How can i move some video files from my school to my house?

I am going to film tomoro at school.
i will open the video files on a computer at my school.
the school doesnt let me get on youtube to upload it and the video files are too long to email. Is there a way to post the files online so i can get them at home?

USB Flash drive.
Zip them up or use a program to compress to a different video codec. I did a really really quick search to try and find a free one for you (I use one that you have to pay for – Camtasia Studio), and I found the following link. Otherwise just google for video compressing software.

http://askville.amazon.com/online-free-compress-video/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=2530617

I don’t know what you’re allowed to put on the computer at school though, so that will be a problem for ya :)

I literally only just read your additional details bit lol. Try uploading to rapidshare. They allow free hosting for up to 30 days without download (after 30 days of the file not being downloaded, it will be deleted). You can use winzip or winrar to zip the file and break in into multiple smaller parts, that you can then upload to rapidshare, or any file hosting service, and then download at home.

Is it possible for me to try and start a career in Film directing while in Law school?

Of course it is possible – many people have outside occupations or hobbies while also in law school. Whether it is a good idea is another question. Unlike college (which generally allows you to choose your class schedule and to vary the number of credits you take at one time), the first year of law school is run more like high school – they hand you your schedule and it is what it is. Unless you are sure that you can work the directing responsibilities around this schedule, I’d wait.

What requirements are needed to apply and join the USC film school?

Also, what other school has the second best film school?

You need top grades and SAT scores, and a good video portfolio certainly helps.

The second best school is Tisch at NYU in New York City, which is at least as difficult to enter.

I am not counting the UCLA film school as it admits only about 30 undergraduates a year and does not admit them until their junior year of college.

Actually even a degree from USC is no guarantee at all of a job after graduation.

Kafka’s The Metamorphosis – Black Moon Theatre Company

The Metamorphosis tells the story of Gregor Samsa (Eric Pettigrew) who awakes one morning to discover that he has been transformed into an insect overnight. It is as though he has been thrust into another dimension, one that he is helpless to control. As life continues around him, Samsa struggles to find a place in the world, to break free from the oppressive ‘realities’ of family and society and, by extension, his own perceived reality and isolation.
In adapting Kafka’s classic tale for the stage, director Migliaccio has blended live action with black and white film in the German Expressionistic style to create a unique theatrical/cinematic hybrid that achieves stunning visual effects. The production has been hailed as “an ingenious fusion of film and stage” by the Philadelphia Enquirer and “Genius of modernist self-containment” by New York Arts.
More than just an opportunity to explore dramatic themes in a mixed-media context, THE METAMORPHOSIS strives to create an immediate interaction between the arts of theatre and cinema. The two forms are tied together to achieve a direct, real time interplay between them. Thus, a tension and excitement are created as they come into contact with each other and their individual characteristics, artistic forms, and physical and emotional qualities collide.
THE METAMORPHOSIS features an international cast of 10, seven of whom appear on film and three of whom appear on-stage. René Migliaccio directs both the stage production and the film (with film co-direction by Vinz Feller). Film scenography were created by Venantius J. Pinto and music was composed by Amaury Groc.

Memoirs Of A Geisha (DVD) Review

Nominated for six Academy Awards, and winner of three, Memoirs Of A Geisha holds its own as one of the best films of 2005. Veteran Hollywood screenwriter Robin Swicord does a superb job of adapting Arthur Golden’s bestselling novel to the big screen. This film has all the elements of a classic drama – jealousy, politics, intrigue, forbidden love, and an abundance of internal and external conflicts of varying types. Viewers in search of a typical Hollywood blockbuster will be greatly disappointed, but those who appreciate a good character-driven film which takes the time to develop the motivations of its cast and build to a climax will discover a splendid gem which offers a welcome escape from reality.

Memoirs Of A Geisha is narrated from the viewpoint of a nine year-old Japanese girl named Chiyo (Ziyi Zhang). Born into a poor fishing family, Chiyo and her sister are sold into slavery by their father. Chiyo is soon separated from her sister and finds herself in a geisha house where her new master, Mother (Kaori Momoi), will determine her destiny. Although only nine years of age, Chiyo sparks the ire of the much older Hatsumomo (Li Gong), the most celebrated geisha of the house, who accurately perceives Chiyo as a fitting rival.

Li Gong is excellent in her role as the vindictive, yet human, adversary, and her character manages to have Chiyo removed from geisha school and condemned to the life of a common slave. However, Chiyo’s life takes a turn for the better following a chance encounter with The Chairman (Ken Watanabe). Flanked by two geisha, The Chairman extends his kindness to Chiyo, prompting her to develop a lifelong crush and to dream of one day becoming a geisha herself. Chiyo’s wish comes true when a geisha from another house, Mameha (Michelle Yeoh), offers to personally train her, setting up an inevitable conflict between the two and Hatsumomo and her understudy. Meanwhile, the horrors of war and her lifelong pursuit of The Chairman’s love burden Chiyo with additional hardships.

Although some traditionalists and geisha experts might take issue with the portrayal of geishas in general, the film certainly offers an interesting glimpse into a world and culture most Americans will find intriguing. Despite its two hour and twenty-five minute running time, Memoirs Of A Geisha is a captivating film that seems much shorter in duration. Like most films adapted from a novel, those who enjoyed the book will either love it or hate it depending on how well they perceive the switch to the big screen. But even those who hate it must admit that the costume and set design are exquisite and leave little room for improvement. At times, the cast speaks with heavy accents which can be confusing at moments, but overall, the scenes flow well from one to the next. With the exception of some American actors near the conclusion (Ted Levine of Monk fame plays a US Army Colonel), the majority of the cast is composed of Chinese and Japanese actors/actresses who are relatively unknown to American audiences – although Ken Watanabe might be recognizable given recent roles in The Last Samurai (2003) and Batman Begins (2005). The utilization of this cast helps focus audience attention on the merits of the film itself and not on a cast of stars, and this helps, rather than hinders, the film. As such, Memoirs Of A Geisha is a film most fans of the genre will thoroughly enjoy.
