Stephen Fry – Bright Young Things
A movie with direction and screenplay by Stephen Fry. Also, a great selection of actors, with a “subrange” of young actors that later have appeared in some major productions. Two little pics to show a movie usually forgotten when you speak about Fry’s works.

Does anyone know …
Does anyone know what the song is at the end of this movie???? The credits????? Please Respond

yes “sing sing sing” is a great song. also used for the chips ahoy commercials =)
Music is Benny …
Music is Benny Goodman’s ‘Sing Sing Sing’.
what that song in …
what that song in the back ground it sounds so familiar but its at the tip of my tongue
this opening scene …
this opening scene is pure genuis. the casting director, music, lighting, camerawork, accents and movement of the actors, costume
I think it’s Fry’s …
I think it’s Fry’s handling of it that got my goat. There’s flippancy to illustrate a point… and then there are those who simply don’t understand. Like that person who tells me I’m absurd and reckons that the British “governed India for a while before 1946″. Some un PC use in films is illustrative and interesting. But sometimes it really does show lack of understanding of hte gravity of a historical period.
derdriui, mate

derdriui, mate
It’s called a film, it isn’t real life. It’s the 1920’s. did you expect PC behaviour?
Eh, can anybody …
Eh, can anybody tell me about Michael Sheen’s charecter? He looks little bit crazy…
… uh. They …
… uh. They colonised India, took slaves. Yes, “governed”. They got their independence FROM THE BRITISH in 1947.
Bizarre twat.
I have nothing against Stephen Fry when he’s talking about topics he understands, but colonialism is NOT something he understands.
… and neither do you.
Ah, some Peter’s …
Ah, some Peter’s friend, a ‘Wildie’. It’s all about the wonderfull mister Fry, isn’t it? I love him
Oh don’t be so …
Oh don’t be so absurd.
It is intended to depict the hedonism of the 1930s and is a rather true to form interpretation of Vile Bodies by Evelyn Waugh.
If I am not mistaken, Britain did indeed govern India pre-1946 for quite some time – and if you have missed the intention of the diatribe as a playful nudge at American views of the English then this film does not need your perusal.
I shan’t have a word spoken against Stephen Fry.
*cringe*

The start of the film looked good but the sheer arrogance of that last scene is staggering.
“govern India” indeed. Bloody self-righteous British bastards.
I agree, and well …
I agree, and well observed. I love the music for this film especially the opening track during the credits. I don’t suppose you know the title for this song? Much obliged for posting!
One (other) …
One (other) pointless detail: there are three songs that matches Woody Allen’s sound tracks movies, including the Benny Goodman ones, only without lyrics. Good music indeed!
Wow, it’s the same …
Wow, it’s the same who did the soundtrack to Jeeves and Wooster. Just a small pointless detail. And I’ve wanted to see this for some time now. Thank you for uploading. Most grateful.
